OBS and a new blogskin!

Hello! Changed my blog skin...I used to have this as my blogskin a few months ago but then I was a total dummy about HTML codes and I couldn't edit some parts of the code and my blog ended up looking like Benjamin Button when he was born. (No, seriously, all my posts had no paragraphing and all my posts looked like one big post and my sidebar was all jumbled up.) Anyway, I hope the skin looks okay to you now.

Anyway, I went to OBS last Thursday and came back on Saturday with a wounded knee (I'll explain later.) It was quite fun. Here's what we did:

First Day

1) We met our team-mates and instructor. I was grouped in Orion (aka onion) and luckily, unlike last year in OBS when nobody I knew was in my team, this year I knew nearly everyone in my group, although some of them did not know me.

2)We surrendered our wallets, valuables, sweets (so sad) and even any oral medication.

3) We each got a backpack, whistle, lifejacket, helmet, harness etc. from the storage shed and went back to our HQ (our HQ was Venus). We learnt how to wear our harnesses and helmets and went for lunch where I, as usual threw almost all my food away.

4)After lunch we put on our helmets and harnesses and went to the Challenge Ropes Course (CRC). Our group joined together with Leo to make...(drumroll please!)....Oreo! Well, that's what we came up with. The instructors called us Orleo but we prefered Oreo (yummy!).

5) CRC was really fun. In the whole course, there were three sectors and the Leos did the sector which the instructors called the "Comet Sector" while we Onions did the "Astroid Sector". I was supposed to be the third person to do the CRC but then I became the second one because once the boy who was supposed to be the first one to do CRC chickened out at the top just before was was going to start doing the CRC (by the way, if this boy I am talking about happens to be you, sorry about mentioning the whole "chickening out" thing...)

6) After CRC, we did some abseiling practice on a really low platform so it wasn't scary like the real abseiling we did which I'll tell you about in a moment...

7) After abseiling practice, we had a Health Talk where the nurse who talked to us about what to do and what not to do in Pulau Ubin when we go there the next day was a man (LOL). We also had a briefing on what to pack into the backpacks that OBS provided us with for the trip to OBS Pulau Ubin campus the next day.

8) As we went back to our HQs to start packing, I fell down and had blood on my palm, on my right elbow and on my left knee and (where there was the most blood), my right knee. I didn't tell my instructor about my fall but my friend told her. I insisted on not going to the nurse but Instructor said I must get the wound on my right knee dressed up before i went kayaking the next day after she saw how much blood there was on my knee. She told me to go wash the wound first so I did and continued packing. We finally got to brush our teeth and go to our treehuts to sleep(the one I was sleeping in was called Uranus).

Hey guys! Sorry I have not been posting a lot recently...my timetable was completely filled up and I could not find time to blog. I have some sad news: I don't think I will be able to blog regularly anymore...only when there is something interesting happening like OBS Camp (OBS stands for Outward Bound School) I'll try my best to post an entry about it. Other than that, I think I will only be able to blog maybe once a month or so.

Anyway, enough pessimism (look that word up in the dictionary yourself :P ) How is school? I am doing quite badly in Maths (*cry*), but other than that I am quite okay. I am getting a lot of homework recently...a few times I only finished my homework at 12 am or even 1 am! But that was only because I started doing it at like 8-something, I guess.

Last week I went for this Debating Workshop with three of my other classmates as my teacher had chosen me and the other three to attend the workshop. (Oh, and did I mention the workshop was DURING SCHOOL HOURS? It was really funny cuz' since there was only the four of us going so we all had to go in a taxi and the Teacher-Aide who accompanied us sat in the front seat (like, duh!) and the four of us had to squeeze into the back seat which was really difficult. (We had to go to the Teachers' Network, which is in ORCHARD) The workshop was really cool. The facilitator who ran the workshop was really funny and taught us about Debating very well. Even though I got confused at first when he told us the rules of debating later when I volunteered to participate in a ...well, you know, practice debate (which was really scary by the way), I got used to it later.

Oh, and by the way, is anybody here chosen for the 100m or 200m race for Sport's Day??? Cause I was chosen for the 100m race (luckily not 200m) and when I ask all of you most of you say your PE teachers have not chosen the runners for the race yet or something...

Well, anyway, did I mention my schedule for a normal week? I have a lot of things going on like: Odyssey Of The Mind meeting, Lasallian Leadership meeting/training, Choir (just joined), piano lessons, swimming lessons, Golf lessons, and something I call "Study Day" during which I go through some assessment books and some notes I have for English, Maths and Science (urgh...cannot find books for studying Tamil) and do some excercises or Maths problems.

It's almost 2009!!!!!

Hey everyone! I'm back from Hong Kong. Hong Kong was amazing. There were like mountains everywhere. In fact, the view we got from the Hotel we stayed in for the first three days of our vacation in was facing an array of mountains. :P

We went to Disneyland and there were many interesting stuff there. My favourite ride there was Space Encounter. It is a roller-coster...normally I get a serious stomach ache when I ride in roller-coasters but this time I did not!!! Well, maybe it is because there was a bar that you have to pull down towards your stomach so I pulled it down so hard I almost couldn't breathe so it would prevent the stomach ache. I liked the ride so much I went on it 3 times!!! Boy, wasn't my Mom surprised. Actually I was not surprised that my Mom was surprised at my surprising reaction which was wanting to go on the surprising ride which surprisingly did not cause me to have my usually-surprising, painful stomach ache. (Boy, what a surprisingly surprising sentence :P) The roller coaster was indoors, unlike normal ones and it was very dark in there....you know like pitch dark except for some twinkling lights. I really could not see my Mom who was sitting next to me. It was very fast and turned so fast that if an elderly lady was sitting in the roller-coaster (which would be so unlikely) her dentures and fake teeth would probably fly off during the ride (just like my spectacles almost did (I am NOT kidding. It really almost fell off while the cart was turning.))

There was also a show called Stitch Encounter. It may sound like a baby show, but I was one of the only kids there, unbelievebly. The show went like this: There will be benches, so you have to sit on them (duh). Then there will be a guy (let's call him "The Host") who says "Ok everyone. You are all space traffic controllers now, so you can communicate with aliens like Stitch. Here he comes now!" and then there will be a screen with Stich coming on it. You may think that was a recorded show but it was actually not. Stich said "Hi everyone!!! It is time for me to know some of you guys. Like the girl sitting on the floor in fron't of the bench... what is your name?" it asked. And there was really a girl sitting on the floor. The girl said her name but I forgot what it was..let's just pretend her name was Mary. So stich actually said Hi Mary!!!! And the funniest part was when Stich asked a man whether he was a space prisoner who had escaped from jail. When the man said no, Stich said "Yes you are!!! See?" and pointed to a wanted poster that appeared on the screen next to him which had a photo of the man on top of a red colour portion that said Wanted!!!!!

There were also many other funny stuff in Stich Encounter but it would probably be 12 midnight by the time I finish typing about it.

Anyway, I'll probably do another post about Hong Kong. Right now I just want to say

Hey everyone! Sry I have not been posting recently...I was tied up with some stuff like plans for going overseas and studies. But there was one thing I was really tied up and needed help with...Chirstmas!!! Every year I like to give X'mas presents to my family but this year I have no idea what to give to my family members this year. All I have come up with is a new whiteboard with a duster and whiteboard marker and a mini-handbag for my little sister. I have already bought the whiteboard but I dunno where to buy a cute little handbag with cartoon characters on it for kids. Any ideas, anyone??? I dunno what to give to my Dad, Mom and Grandma. If u have any ideas, please tell it to me in the chatbox.

Anyway, if you are wondering why the title for this entry (which, by the way is supposed to be "Hong Kong!!!"...this skin does not display the entry/post title, which is kinda weird) has nothing to do to the previous paragraph that is because the title is related to what I am gonna say in this paragraph. I think this is gonna be my last post for 2008 cause I am goin' to Hong Kong this Saturday. And I am coming back around Christmas and after Christmas I am planning to spend the days with my family and friends. And I also need to go 4 a 'annual general prefect meeting' or something during one of the last days of 08.

"The Holidays Are H-E-R-E!"

It's the holidays! So, whatcha' going to do during the holidays? I'm thinking about : family fun, hanging out with friends, shopping, going to the movies, playing all kinds of sports, learning how to roller-blade, playing at the park with my little sis, reading some new books, trying to make my very own blog skin, downloading adobe photoshop and illustrator, learning thow to cook, finding X'mas presents for everyone in my family (except me,of course. Giving a present to myself would be kinda stupid.) like I did last year, (I am gonna try to make the presents better!!!) and last but definitely not least, save enough money to buy the two things that are are on my wishlist, which is a guitar and a cool laptop (which has to meet my requirements, which include a webcam and some other stuff). Wow, that's a pretty long list. Wait, no, lemme rephrase my sentence and type it in capital letters for emphasis;
THAT IS A HUGE, GIGANTIC LIST.
I could have just said I would like to have fun during the holidays, but that would be sooo not specific.

Okie, anyway, sorry about not posting for a while. I have been kinda busy during the holidays, also tired.

A few days ago, I made dosai for my family, which is a type of Indian food. It is like a pancake. Normally my parents cook them in an circle or oval shape but I cooked them in different shapes like '8' shapes, hearts, flowers, stars, squares, and other types of weird shapes for cooking a pancake.

The day before yesterday, Harini called me in the morning and she said that her father had said that we could visit each other that day. She asked if she could come to my house or whether I could come to her house and we decided that she should come to my house. It was a bit of chaos with my sis shouting at practically everything and all, but we decided that Harini should sleepover, and she did. My second ever sleepover!!! She followed me to piano lesson the day after that which was yesterday. After that we went to the b-ball court at Stagmont Park and played some b-ball (duh!). We also played in the swings and the monkey bars and the slides in the playground in Stagmont Park (BTW, that is NOT childish. We had to stop halfway though while we were swinging in the swings because some teenagers who were like, I dunno, 14 or 15 wanted to swing!) We had so much fun, and I was kinda sad when she had to leave yesterday at 7 at night. Anyway, she said we could go to Escape Theme Park or Wild Wild Wet one day maybe next week or the week after that. Maybe I can sleepover with her too! I am also planning to have a sleepover with Nivani, my best friend from my former school. But I don't think I can have any sleepovers next week, cause I am very busy.

I am going for an English workshop at Raffles Instution next week. I'll bet a million dollars that I am gonna have fun!!!

Hey! Today is Parent-Teacher-Meeting Day, and while waiting for my Dad to come from office to pick me up and go to school for PTM, I decided to write an entry. I wonder what my teacher is going to say about me. I hope it is something so nice it will make my Dad hug me...never mind. A few days ago I got addicted to something that millions of people are trying to solve each day, something that has more than a gazillion videos
on the internet that connect to it, something that is a phenomenon that everybody wants to be a pro at which is (drumroll please!) : the Rubik's Cube!!!!! ( I know, such a big intro wasn't needed, but nvm) This is kind of a lame fact, but after like, two weeks of fiddling with my Rubik's cube and hogging the computer screen and staring at Youtube videos on how to solve rubik's cubes, I finally learned how to solve one side of my rubik's cube!!! I also tried to solve the rest of the sides of the rubik's cube, but the side that I had already solved kept getting messed up and I had to re-solve the side that I had already solved like, 5 times.

I think I am going to go to Youtube and watch some videos of how to solve the rest of the rubik's cube. Bye!!!

The Holidays Are Coming!!!

Omigosh, I'm so excited for the hols, although I have no idea what I am going to do during the hols. I would be so bored if I am not going overseas during the hols. I'd probably lying down on my bed trying to solve a rubik's cube. (If I actually solve the rubik's cube, it would be a miracle I would probably remember forever...)

So, did y'all get your report books??? I did. I am going to 5D next year (BTW, is 5D a good class???). It is kinda sad, because as far as I know, very few people from my class are going to 5D next year, like 2 to 4 people!!! But I heard that a lot of people from 4D are going to 5D next year, so hurray for me! It was kinda surprising when I saw my report book cause I had gotten 257/300, overall which is kinda low. But I had done some careless mistakes in my exams and did not do some questions in my Science because of my poor exam-time-management, and in my Dad's car yesterday when I was coming back from school I realized I could have gotten like, 265 or 270 if it wasn't for my PETM (poor exam-time-magement) and carelessness. Hmph! Oopsie, I've gtg for piano lessons!

Nintendo wii and exams!

Hey everyone! I was so busy because of exams that I forgot to tell you all about the Nintendo Wii that my Dad bought for me like, last month. Nintendo Wii is a sensor video game. So for example you can choose a sports game, hmm let's see, maybe tennis. So there on the TV screen there is the virtual version of yourself, so when the other virtual player hits the tennis ball to the virtual version of you, you use the remote as a tennis racket and swing the racket like you would with a normal tennis racket, and the virtual ball will go in the direction you hit it! Not only can you play tennis, you can also play baseball, golf, bowling and boxing! And that is not all. If you have other Nintendo Wii game CDs (these are CDs of games meant for Nintendo Wii only other then the main sports you find on nintendo Wii) you can insert them in and play the games in them. I have two other Nintendo Wii game CDs, one about Alvin and The Chipmunks, and the other one is about a game about a Family-fun night thingy.You can also create a virtual version of yourself called a Mii which is how you will be displayed in the games you play and allows you to have a skill level. The better you are at a game, the more points will be added to your skill level. But if you are bad at a game and deproved sinces your last game, poinnts will be most likely deducted from your skill level. You can even insert a memory stick from your camera and display your pics there!!!

Okay, enough about Wii. How was your exams everyone? I have could have done better, did a few careless mistakes. I really wish I could go to a good class next year. I also want all my best friends to be in the same class as me!!! The worst I did in my exams was my science. If I am not wrong, my science was the lowest I had ever gotten in my entire life! I did not finish the last three questions because I had no time...if you are surprised, you should not be, cause my exam time mangement if very very very very very bad. A lot of people keep asking me for my marks, so here they are:

English : 88.5/100 :)
Maths : 87.5/100 :]
Science : 73.5/100 :(
Tamil : 80.5/100 :)

Long time no see! (I mean post)

Hey! I'm so sorry I haven't been posting for a long while....I was tied up with the exams coming and all. I feel like I have not posted for ages. Was it like two months since I posted an entry??? let me check...the last entry was in September. So since it is coming to the end of October, yep it is about two months since I posted. Okay, enough maths, cause I am trying to relax after my SA2 Maths exam. I hope I did well...I really want to go to a good class next year and not get any foundation subjects for banding!!!

Oh, and by the way, some of you might have noticed a problem with the posts on my old skin (my posts were close together with no space between and I could not post my entries with the normal posting feature), so I changed it and now the posting is back to normal, finally. I also changed my blog URL, as you might have noticed.

Today, I went for Family Day with my best friend, Harini (she's from my class) and my family, an event hosted for the employees working in the company that my Dad is in. It is like a mini funfair (but it was indoors), only more......adultish. Well, that is if you count a mini basketball booth and other game booths, cotton candy, laser gun games, blow-up castles, bungee-jumping and face painting as adultish. (Well, a lot of adults played those games except for the blow-up castles of course...if adults were actually jumping on that thing it would probably the most hilarious thing in the whole wide world. I did not see any adults on the bugee jumping booth too (and by bungee jumping i mean wearing a harness that holds you and the harness is like hanging with a rope, and you are standing on a trapoline and jumping as high as about three or four storeys!!!) even though those stuff are usually meant for adults. There was a stage and a ton of chairs in the middle of all the game booths and stuff, where there were performences by some singers and dancers and the host was saying stuff and playing games with the kids (I and Harini even went on stage to learn how to juggle boxes once...it was cool!) Then they annouced Lucky Draw winners. I was hoping my Dad would get a prize...last time during Family Day he got a steam iron. and they have like, i don't know, 50 or 30 prizes to give out!!! And boy, was our family lucky! My Dad got the ninth place prize wich was....an MP3/Mp4 player! Well, since I was the only one who listened to music that much, my Dad allowed me to download songs and videos to it but I had to charge the battery by connecting it to the computer (and the MP4 is still charging now!)and that's why I have time to post an entry.

I gotta go now...to all my Hindu friends, Happy Deepavali! And good luck to all my schoolmates for your SA2 Science Exams!

Hi! I am so bored...obviously I changed my skin, hope you like it. I have not even finished my homework and I am saying that I am bored..I just went with my Dad, my grandmother and my sis to stay at Sentosa for 3 days. When I upload the pics i took at Sentosa maybe I will post it on my blog. It was really fun and exciting at Sentosa. Now that I am back, I am sooo bored. Well I guess I will go play Monopoly with my Dad or something. Bye!

The Beijing Olympics

Hey! I was watching the Beijing Olympics for a while, so since I dunno what to talk about, I have decided to talk about the Olympics. I am going to start with the table-tennis gold medal match between China and Singapore....well, for instance I am like, so sad that Singapore did not win that match... and what's more, Singapore did not win the bronze medal match too....is it just a coincidence that every time Singapore is competing in a medal match China is our competitor? I mean, in 2004 Li Jia Wei lost to China in the table-tennis bronze medal match...This year Singapore lost to China again in the Gold medal and bronze medal match too! Well, at least Singapore gets one silver medal :)

I just wanted to tell anybody who is a computer whiz or those who have an Edublog...when i view my EduBlog the whole screen is blank and i don't know why...if you know how to fix it could you pls tell me!!!! I think our teacher said that we need to complete our blog by the end of this term or something...which is on next Friday!!!!! Even my Dad can't fix it =)

The Cheetah Girls

Hello Everyone!

How are you guys? Did I mention that my favourite band is The Cheetah Girls? They consists of 4 members who are: Raven Symone, Adrienne Bailon, Sabrina Bryan and Kiely Williams. Here is one of my favourite pictures of them :) They have made three movies together so far, although in the third movie Raven is not in it. The third movie The Cheetah Girls : One World (their third movie) is shooted in Northern India, isn't that cool? (I was born in India!) Anyway, gtg!
